      Welcome
In our last issue, (February 22, Volume III / Number 04), we spotlighted St. Patrick's Day (from its history to great recipes), because by the time this issue would be sent your way (March 15th), it would be too late to help you plan for the fun of the holiday. Well, we're looking at the same situation with this issue and Easter... By the time Issue #6 rolls around, it will be March 29th... two days before Easter and not enough time for planning and shopping. So we're celebrating early again! We want to bring you our best suggestions for Easter-related cooking, baskets, and all those eggs you'll have on hand!

      Product of thr Month

Our product review team will feature 2 (two) "Products Of The Month" one in each issue of our newsletter. These products will be the group consensus of those we find to be the most innovative, tasty, or helpful to the low-carber's daily dietary regime.

Watkins Flavored Extracts Watkins Flavored Extracts
Flavors are the heart-and-soul of low-carb cooking — especially in baking. Being somewhat more restricted in the fruit and sweet-based ingredients we can use to impart that "something special", we rely instead on essences of the tastes we remember.

So a truly great
Banana, Orange or Caramel extract can go a very long way indeed.

We've found that the
Watkins line of flavored extracts are some of the best — vibrant in flavor (and colors where appropriate) without the alcohol-sting that you get with some extracts. And they're sugar free. (Note, the vanilla is NOT sugar free and is not part of this recommendation.)

We've found the best baking and cooking results with their more fruit based extracts and the top of the line were
Raspberry, Pineapple, Peach, Strawberry, and Cherry, but all were good, and we didn't find a single one that disappointed us.

They're a great buy and consistent from batch to batch. We also like their old-fashioned "jug-style" bottles with little handles. And since Watkins has been around since 1868, you know you can trust them for quality.

WatkinsOnline.com Our recommendation for online purchase is through Jenkins & Associates. They ship quickly, are always available for help, and offer a 100% money-back guarantee.
